2. What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files that may be stored on or read from your device. Similar technologies include local storage objects, pixels, tags, scripts, and device identifiers. They may be required for an online shop to function or, after consent, may be used for convenience features, audience measurement, analytics, advertising, or embedded external content.
3. Legal bases
The storage of information on your device or access to information already stored on it is governed in Germany by Section 25 of the Telecommunications-Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG). Consent is not required where the technology is used solely to transmit a communication or is strictly necessary to provide a digital service expressly requested by you.
Where these technologies involve the processing of personal data, the subsequent processing is governed by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Necessary processing is based in particular on Article 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR. Processing requiring consent is based on Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. You may withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future.
4. Categories of technologies
| Category | Purpose and activation |
|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Enables core functions such as session management, shopping cart, sign-in, checkout, security, fraud prevention, and storage of your consent choice. These technologies remain active where they are necessary for the shop service you expressly request. |
| Functional / preferences | Stores voluntary settings or provides additional convenience features. Where a feature is not strictly necessary, it is activated only after consent. |
| Statistics / analytics | Helps us understand how visitors use the shop, which pages are viewed, and where technical or content improvements may be useful. These technologies are activated only after consent. |
| Marketing | May be used to measure advertising results, create audiences, or display interest-based advertising. These technologies are activated only after consent. |
| External media | Enables content from external providers, such as videos, maps, or social-media content. Such content is loaded only after any required consent has been given. |
5. BigCommerce and necessary shop technologies
Our online shop is operated on the BigCommerce platform. BigCommerce and related technical service providers use necessary technologies to support functions including sessions, shopping cart, customer account, checkout, security, and storage of cookie choices. Optional analytics, functional, or marketing technologies from the platform or other providers may be activated only after the appropriate consent. Further information about BigCommerce and recipients of personal data is provided in our Privacy Policy.
The language entry is not used for analytics, advertising, profiling, or disclosure to third parties. On the homepage, your browser language setting may also be checked to suggest or open the matching homepage without storing that browser setting. A manual selection using the language switcher takes priority.
| Name | Technology | Purpose | Storage period |
|---|---|---|---|
laminxPreferredLanguage |
First-party localStorage | Stores only the selected language (en or de) and keeps navigation within the matching language version. |
Until you change the language or clear the website data in your browser. |
Our language switcher uses browser local storage (localStorage) to remember a language version selected by you. When you choose EN or DE using the language switcher, only your language choice is stored. This allows us to direct you to the matching English or German pages during later navigation and visits.
6. Language preference and language switching
7. Payment and checkout technologies
During checkout, selected payment service providers may use cookies or similar technologies that are technically necessary to process the selected payment method, prevent fraud, secure the transaction, and complete the purchase. These technologies may be used by providers such as card-payment processors, PayPal, Amazon Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or other payment services offered in the checkout.
These technologies are used only where necessary for checkout and payment processing. Optional analytics, advertising, or marketing technologies remain subject to consent where required.
8. Cookie settings and consent
- Technologies requiring consent are not activated by default on a first visit.
- You may accept optional technologies, reject them, or select them by category.
- Optional categories must not be preselected.
- Rejecting optional technologies must be as easy as accepting them.
- You may change your choice or withdraw consent at any time through the permanently available cookie settings element on the website.
9. Current services, providers, and storage periods
A current service-specific list is available in Cookie Settings. For each technology, it identifies the provider, purpose, category, storage period, and, where applicable, third-party access or transfers to a country outside the European Economic Area. This list forms part of this Cookie Policy and should be updated when services are added or changed.
10. Session and persistent cookies
Session cookies are generally deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain stored for the period shown in Cookie Settings or until you delete them through your browser or cookie settings. The applicable storage period depends on the purpose and provider of the technology.
11. Browser settings
You may also delete or block cookies through your browser. Blocking necessary technologies may affect the shopping cart, sign-in, checkout, or other shop functions. Browser settings do not replace the ability to withdraw consent previously given through our Cookie Settings.
12. Changes to this Cookie Policy
We update this Cookie Policy when the technologies, providers, or legal requirements change. The current version is available on laminx.eu.
